"Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Well balanced with nice roasted wood. Dried fruit with spices and a light polish note and some licorice. There is a nice natural sweetness to it."

"Needs a bit until it opens, but then blatantly spicy, I spontaneously old Madeiras come to mind, along with coffee, raisin and creme brulee. On the palate sweet and spicy. The rather high ABV is present but not disturbing. Sure, you have to like this style, but it just fits perfectly with the cigar (maybe it's also because Spaniards were the first companions to the cigar back then 😉). For me, a real top Spaniard!"

"Very prominent Caroni nose. Caroni notes are also very present on the palate. This one feels very smooth and soft (mind you compared to other Caronis at higher ABVs) and enjoyable as long as you fancy Caroni notes. Really not bad, however, the hardcore Caroni enthusiasts may miss some punch out of this bottling"

"29.09.2023 This is a nice and intense unaged. I tried this one at a whopping 83% where it's even better in my mind. Intense and fruity with floral and earthy notes. The palate is oily and spicy with fruit and grassy notes. The finish is very long and warm with some citrus. Draws nice and thick curtains in the glass. The empty glass is fresh and has some iodine and very light mint."

"High Ester and PX finish always go well together. The rum seems very young and tastes very high ester. The sherry finish is rather subtly pronounced and could be more present for my taste."

"This is the 5th draw so the last one before the tail. More up my alley as there is far more power in the flavours. Drier than the younger brother and really nice balance between the elements. Intense, fruity and fresh with a bit of funk in my mind. Very good ABV integration. The curtains are much lighter in this release."

"Accessibility 3/5 (Difficult). The oloroso sherry cask is dominant but the French oak is distinct. This is a difficult one. Lots of burnt woody notes in a very spirit heavy rum, and with the sweetness well buried underneath peaty and spicy tastes."

"Very agricole style Mauritian rum. Pretty sure this is sugarcane juice spirit. Not sure which distillery (Chamarel?) but my guess it is not New Grove. Nice balance of dry, fresh, some acidic flavours. Very pure. Not much wood. I like it."

"Schon in der Nase sticht deutlich das Whisky-Finish hervor. An Gaumen setzt sich das vor allen im Abgang fort. Auch wenn das wahrscheinlich relativ gelungen ist, weil es insgesamt gut passt, kann ich persönlich damit nicht so viel anfangen."
