“Seems watered down and too old. Unfortunately, the barrel seems to me overlaid. So only difficult to assess how the initial product was once. The 88 Isla del Ron bottled in 2012 shows how it could have been a few years ago.pity”

“Moving on to old Demeraras...Nose: naturally spicy-woody, but also fresh and fruity. Very full-bodied and concentrated. There's a subtle sweetness, almost as if from burnt sugar, plus fruitiness of cherry, currant and dried, sulfured apricot. A light salt licorice note is just as there as some leather, molasses and a vinegary untetone.Palate: supple due to the low cask strength. Distinct licorice and slightly sour, salty molasses. Woody-spicy, a bit bitter, toasty with light umami notes and some chocolate. A bit too much licorice, otherwise great!”
