How does this rum taste?
Wild Series Rum Jamaica No.39 NYE/WK is surprisingly smooth for an 85% ABV rum. Users praised its potent and complex aromas, including notes of adhesive, esters, overripe fruit, marzipan, and vanilla. Despite its young age, it presents a respectable balance and power, with a bit of polishing needed on the finish. Tropical fruitiness dominates, with some even noticing BBQ undertones. Some suggest a slightly longer aging process could enhance the experience. Overall, it's a wild ride that's not for the faint-hearted but is a definite must-try for rum enthusiasts.

“Nice and intense bottling. Vast basket of tropical fruits and funky esters combined with marzipan and cookie notes. Compared to the RDL HGML, the latter had a more pronounced impact from the barrel putting it ahead of the NY we have here.”

“This is a retasting with the RumX guys. ----- This is a Jamaica rum on steroids, not only because of the ABV, but also the profile itself. Many will probably need to add water because it's like a hammer of flavours. Make sure to rest it for a good while or it will bite, shred and spit you out in a flash. From pouring the nose already reveals where it's from and it just gets better from there. A very intense and complex rum with an oily touch to the palate. Nice fruitiness and I really like the marzipan note in there. Price to quality is pretty good 😊”
