“Most reminiscent to me of the ethanol forward DDL Versailles still releases. Young and somewhat brash. Nose is alcoholic alongside honey and an ethanol/acetone element, palette is spicy with olive notes and and takes a while to hit, with a pleasant caramel at the very end of the finish. Handles the 57% ABV well with a moderate and lingering length. It drinks well for the age but it’s not as good as I was expecting and just doesn’t come together in the way many other rums do - will try other examples from the distillery but I’m not yet convinced”
