"This was not a cheap bottle and though my wife is Japanese, she had problems locating a bottle. Japan is not well known for rum yet, but it's slowly spreading like whisky did many years ago. The nose on this bottle is truly amazing especially if you leave it for 15 minutes or more to really release everything. The palate is velvety and complex with spices, wood and smoke really well balanced with the proof. Only 2500 bottles made and I'm happy one of them is on my shelf. "

"I can understand why this rum has won awards. While you can still smell the alcohol in the nose next to fruity-floral notes, is just transferred, you are surprised in the taste of an incredible mildness and pleasant sweetness. In addition, there are then herbal notes of herbs. The Nine Leaves typical sake note I notice here only in the finish. The best unaged rum to drink neat that I know so far!"
