"What a pleasant and intense experience! This rum is crisp, bold, and surprising with each sip. It is light in both color and wood notes, considering it’s been in the cask for 19 years, but if you’re looking for funky rums, this is it! This rum brings lots of fruit, funk, and there’s everything you would expect from a high ester rum of this caliber."

"I love these high ABV releases from Kill Devil because they usually hit the mark. From opening the bottle you get the fruity ester notes and as the poured rum "cures" in the glass the flavours can be picked up from the other side of the table. I love the oily texture and the nice roasted woody notes that blend very well with the fruit and spice notes."

"Limited to a mere 277 bottles, this is another good one from the Kill Devil release.The nose is like a typical Caroni with the rubber and fruitiness from tropical fruits. There is a bite from the alcohol from the start, which dissipates if you leave it for 15-30 minutes.The palate is nicely balanced where the spices are dominant. Nice curtains on the glass and creamy in the mouth with a bit of saltiness.The finish is long with caramel and salt."

"Erstaunlich wie fruchtig dieser Rum vor allem an der Nase ist wenn man bedenkt dass er 20 Jahre alt ist. Vollreife Melone, saftige Kirsche, Banane und etwas verbranntes Gummi, dunkle Schokolade an der Nase aber keine Spur von Holz. Geschmacklich dann dezent holzig , schokoladig, kirschig aber immer noch fruchtig und ölig-frisch nach Tabak und Menthol sowie diversen Zitrusschalen und etwas Schokolade. Sehr komplexer Bellevue, könnte nur etwas weniger bitter für meinen Geschmack sein. Dennoch definitiv einer der besten Bellevue die ich bis dato im Glas hatte."

"Often Fiji rum reminds me of Jamaican. Here, rather the other way around. The smoky and peppery barrel notes made it remind me of a South Pacific. Relaxed Hampden. Of the tasted three 01 vintages for me the best."
